A Rosary is one-third of Our Lady’s Psalter. The Psalter is comprised of all 15 “decades” (meaning ten Hail Mary’s, which are preceded by an Our Father and followed by the Gloria, otherwise known as the Glory Be) while meditating on the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries in succession. A Rosary, however, includes only one set of Mysteries while praying five decades.
Traditionally, each day of the week is set apart for a particular Rosary Mystery, as follows:
