Since my brothers had come and I owe so much to one of them, I didn’t cease being with this one and discussing what was suited to his soul and state;1 and this all made me weary and uneasy. While offering these actions to the Lord and thinking I was thus obliged, I recalled that our constitutions tell us we should keep away from relatives.2 Thinking about whether I was obliged to follow these constitutions in this matter, the Lord told me: “No, daughter, for your institutions must be in conformity with My law.” Indeed, the intention of the constitutions is that there be no attachment to relatives. And, in my opinion, it tires and wearies me more to converse with them.
