REVELATION OF MAY, 1844
Our Lord again orders Sister Mary of St. Peter to pray for her country as its ambassador, in order to cancel the debt incurred by guilty citizens. To pay off this huge indebtedness He gives Himself to her as a "Mine of Gold."
TODAY our Lord repeated the command He gave me sometime ago to pray for our nation whose shepherd He Himself is, but He said that I was chosen by Him to be a tiny shepherdess, that He gave me the mysteries of His most holy Life as my inheritance, and that from His Sacred Wounds I must draw vast treasures for my sheepfold.
In other words He said that He gave Himself to me as a "Gold Mine" with which I was to pay the debts our nation owes to the Justice of God, and He allowed me to use the great treasures concealed in His Heart. Our Lord also warned me to be very careful lest I should resemble the lazy servant of the Gospel, who buried his talents, and He added that He would demand a strict account from me.
He then went on to explain how easy it was for me to draw vast reserves of gold from this mine which, He said, He Himself had dug out of the ground by His labors and His sufferings.
I understand our Lord is ardently searching for some soul, who would but constrain Him through her prayers to have mercy on our guilty nation.
